York, Leeds and Ilkley to Upper Wharfedale and Hawes

Service 800         York - Leeds - Ilkley - Bolton Abbey - Grassington - Buckden - Aysgarth - Hawes

This service is expected to run on Summer Sundays and Bank Holidays from 6th April 2012 - details will be posted here when available, in the meantime the Summer 2011 timetable is shown below.

 

Alternative buses to Upper Wharfedale are available on service 874 on Winter Sundays, with connections from Leeds on service 870 and from York on service 883.

 

Connections to Hawes are available on Winter Sundays from Garsdale Station on service 855, and from Northallerton on service 856.

Service 800 Stopping Arrangements

On the outward journey service 800 stops at all stops from York Piccadilly to Seacroft Green, then only at Crossgates Hawkhill Avenue, Osmondthorpe Selby Road, Leeds City Bus Station (Stand 17), Leeds Station Interchange (Stand S10), Burley Vue Cinema, Kirkstall - Kirkstall Bridge Road, Hawksworth Abbey Road, Horsforth The Fleece, Rawdon Crossroads, Guiseley Morrisons, Guiseley White Cross, Menston Chevin End, Burley Station Road, Ben Rhydding Bolling Road and Ilkley Bus Station, then at all stops to Hawes.
 

On the return journey service 800 stops as above, and also stops at any other stops on route to set down only.

Note that service 800 no longer operates into the Dales Countryside Museum car park in Hawes.

 

In rural areas without marked bus stops service 800 operates on a “Hail & Ride” basis – intending passengers should wait in a safe place, and signal clearly to the driver.

An alternative bus from York to Ilkley is available on DalesBus service 883.

 

An alternative bus from York to Grassington via Ripon is available on DalesBus service 812.

 

Additional buses between Aysgarth and Hawes are available on Wensleydale Flyer service 856.

 

Other buses between Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Grassington and Buckden on Sundays and Bank Holidays are provided on DalesBus service 874, with connections from Leeds on services 870 and X84.

Other buses between Ilkley, Bolton Abbey and The Strid on Sundays and Bank Holidays are provided on Cravenlink service 884, continuing to/from Skipton.

Dales Rovers and MetroCards are valid on service 800.

Service 800 is managed by the Dales & Bowland Community Interest Company, with funding from Metro and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.

 

Pride of the Dales provide weekday services between Skipton, Grassington and Buckden, with connections from Ilkley.
