Eastern Dalesman Service 820 

Bradford - Otley - Pateley Bridge - Fountains Abbey - Ripon - Leyburn

This service is expected to be revised to operate between Dewsbury, Bradford and Leyburn on Summer Sundays and Bank Holidays, starting on 6th May 2012. Details will be posted here when available, in the meantime the Summer 2011 timetable is shown below.

On the outward journey service 820 stops at all bus stops from Wetherby to Leeds City Bus Station (Stand 17) then only at: Leeds Station Interchange (Stand S10), Leeds University Steps, Hyde Park Corner, Headingley Arndale Centre, Glen Road, Welburn Grove, Lawnswood Cemetery, Adel Divino’s Restaurant, Bramhope The Birches, Breary Lane, Dyneley Arms, Otley Bus Station and then all recognised bus stops to Richmond.

On the return journey service 820 stops at all stops.

In rural areas without marked bus stops service 820 operates on a “Hail & Ride” basis – please wait in a safe place, and signal clearly to the driver.
 

Half-price entry to Fountains Abbey is available to passengers on this service - present your valid bus ticket at the entrance to receive the discount.

Connections from Pateley Bridge are available to Upper Nidderdale on service 825 and to Stump Cross, Hebden and Grassington on service 812.

An alternative frequent daily bus service from Leeds to Ripon is provided by Harrogate & District Travel service 36, with connections at Harrogate onto service 24 to Pateley Bridge.

Additional buses between Ripon and Fountains Abbey are provided by Fountains Abbey Shuttle service 139.

 

Dales Rovers and MetroCards are valid on service 820.

Service 820 is managed by the Dales & Bowland Community Interest Company, with funding from Metro and Nidderdale AONB.

 

Dales & District service 159 provides alternative buses on Mondays to Saturdays between Ripon and Leyburn, whilst the Wensleydale Vintage Tour Bus runs between Ripon, Leyburn and Garsdale on Summer Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
