Bridleway from Reeth to Langthwaite and back via The Arkle beck to Reeth.

Getting
There:
Catch Monday to Saturday bus service 30 from Richmond or Summer Sunday bus
service 803 from
Wakefield, Leeds, Harrogate, Ripon and Leyburn.
Alight Reeth.
The
Route:
From the Village Green head down the village towards Reeth Bridge just over the
bridge go through the stile on the left. Take
the path to the left through four fields and following the signs head up the
next field past the barn and out onto the allotment land. Turn left along the
well-defined trek for approx 1 km
At
the signpost follow the bridleway to the right, steadily climbing through a gate
keeping wall on the left passing behind Castle farms. Go through a hand gate see
Calva hill and Watson house on the left in the distance. Continue through a
second hand gate behind Hegs Cottage cut down the slope to the back of the
cottage through the farm gate and continue on the trek to the right. Passing a
footbridge on (a shortcut back to Reeth) keep along the riverside until an iron
footbridge is reached cross over and through a hand gate and through a second
hand gate on the left. Follow the signs for Langthwaite until a small footbridge
on the left is reached, (this is the halfway point of the walk if wanting to
visit Langthwaite continue along the trek into the village and return to this
point to return to Reeth).
Cross
over the bridge and turn immediately over a stile, cross the stream and walk
down the riverside footpath
Over
several stiles and two gates until Rawcroft farm is reached cross ion front of
the house to a small hand gate head to a stile right of the clump of trees,
continue on through several stiles and gates following the yellow way markers
until a vehicle track is reached cross over and keep on through the stiles to
Reeth.
Getting
back:
Return on the same buses.
