An Introduction to the DalesBus Website

The DalesBus website is designed to help you get around the Yorkshire Dales area (including the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) using public transport.

These maps provide an overview of the main bus and train routes in the Yorkshire Dales for Summer 2016 and Winter 2016-17.

Metro produce a handy pocket size timetable of most bus routes in the Dales, including all buses from West Yorkshire to the Dales. You can download a copy in PDF format by clicking below:

There are many bus services within the Yorkshire Dales which run throughout the year (click here for a list), these are supplemented by extra bus services during the Summer period, which mainly operate on Sundays and Bank Holidays from the May Day bank holiday weekend until the end of September. 

The famous Settle to Carlisle Railway also passes through the Yorkshire Dales area, with several journeys daily throughout the year. There are also good rail links to several access points to the Yorkshire Dales.  The Wensleydale Railway now runs between Northallerton West, Leeming Bar, Bedale, Leyburn and Redmire for much of the year.
