Journey Planners and Timetables

The Dalesbus website contains timetables for many local buses, but there are also many other sources of information available to help you plan your journey. A summary map of bus routes and railway lines is available as a PDF file here.

There are now several on-line journey planners, which include full timetable details of all bus and rail services in their respective areas:

	Journey Planner for City of York, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire
	Transport Direct, the first complete transport journey planner for Great Britain
Traveline North East	The traveline north east Journey Planner will allow you to plan any bus, coach, rail, metro and ferry journey anywhere in north east England. It also covers all buses and ferries in North Yorkshire and Cumbria, and travel anywhere in the UK on the national rail and coach networks.
Traveline North West	Journey Planner for the North West of England , including Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

A good way to find out train times is to use the National Rail journey planner, which includes details of all train operators services:              

Traveline provide a one-call phone number for all public transport timetable information.  The number is 0871 200 22 33, and lines are open daily between 8am and 8pm. If you are calling from outside the area, press 885 as soon as the greeting message starts, this will divert you to a Traveline call centre in North Yorkshire.

Timetables for individual bus routes in North Yorkshire (with a useful search facility by town or village name) are available online at NYCC's transport website.

A series of NYCC transport maps is also available, including one covering Harrogate and the Dales area. A summary map of bus routes and railway lines is available as a PDF file here.

For bus and train services within or to/from West Yorkshire, METRO will send up to 10 timetables post-free, simply phone them on 0113 245 7676. Metro also produce a handy pocket size timetable of most leisure bus routes in the Dales, including all buses from West Yorkshire to the Dales. Dales Bus Winter 2007/8 Timetable - (approx 800KB PDF file) - Please note that the timetable for Cravenlink services 784/884 is now out of date in the Metro timetable - click here for new times - and that the timetable shown for service 805 has now been replaced by service 874.
