A revised cap of £3 on single bus fares applies in England throughout 2025. This applies to all bus services in the Yorkshire Dales area and elsewhere in North Yorkshire/York, including cross-boundary journeys to/from surrounding areas such as West Yorkshire.
Different arrangements apply in some local areas, including West Yorkshire, where the maximum fare for journeys entirely within West Yorkshire will remain at £2 until 31st March 2025. From 1st April the maximum fare in West Yorkshire will rise to £2.50. The special £1 fare for under 19s in North Yorkshire also remains in place. This is generally only for journeys entirely within North Yorkshire/City of York, but the £1 fare is also available throughout Saturday DalesBus 74 and Sunday DalesBus 864, 873 and 874.
