Christmas & New Year Bus and Train Services

Bus and train services in and around the Yorkshire Dales area will be amended on some days over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

• Monday/Tuesday 22nd/23rd December 2025 - Most buses will run a Saturday service, including buses run by Harrogate Bus Co, Keighley Bus Co, Stagecoach and York & Country, but DalesBus services 59 and 74 will not run. Trains and some buses, including buses run by Connexions, First and Hodgsons, will run a normal weekday service. North Yorkshire Council minibuses will generally run a normal weekday service except service 11 Horton – Settle – Clitheroe will run a special timetable and Skipton local minibuses 14, 16 & 78A will run a Saturday service.
• Christmas Eve Wednesday 24th December 2025 - Most buses will run a Saturday service, including buses run by First, Harrogate Bus Co, Keighley Bus Co, Stagecoach and York & Country, but DalesBus services 59 and 74 will not run. Trains and some buses, including buses run by Connexions and Hodgsons, will run a normal weekday service. North Yorkshire Council minibuses will generally run a normal weekday service except service 11 Horton – Settle – Clitheroe will run a special timetable and Skipton local minibuses 14, 16 & 78A will run a Saturday service. All services will finish by early evening. On service 74A the 1650 journey from Grassington to Ilkley will not operate.
• Christmas Day Thursday 25th December 2025 - No buses or trains will run.
• Boxing Day Friday 26th December 2025 - The only local bus service will be a special timetable on service 36 between Leeds, Harrogate and Ripon.  No trains will run.
• Saturday 27th December 2025 - Trains and buses will run a normal Saturday service, except service 11 Horton – Settle – Clitheroe will run a special timetable. 
• Sunday 28th December 2025 - Normal Sunday Service on all local buses and trains.

North Yorkshire Council minibuses will generally run a normal weekday service except service 11 Horton – Settle – Clitheroe will run a special timetable and Skipton local minibuses 14, 16 & 78A will run a Saturday service. All services will finish by early evening. • Friday 2nd January 2026 - Trains and most buses will run a normal weekday service, including buses run by Connexions, Hodgsons, Harrogate Bus Co, Keighley Bus Co and York & Country. Some buses, including buses run by First and Stagecoach, will run a Saturday service. North Yorkshire Council minibuses will generally run a normal weekday service except service 11 Horton – Settle – Clitheroe will run a special timetable and Skipton local minibuses 14, 16 & 78A will run a Saturday service. 
• Saturday 3rd January 2026 - Trains and buses will run a normal Saturday service, except service 11 Horton – Settle – Clitheroe will run a special timetable.
