Westmorland Dales Area Buses

Major changes will be made to bus services in the Sedbergh and Westmorland Dales area from 31st March 2025:

• Stagecoach service 563 will be revised to run between Penrith, Appleby, Kirkby Stephen and Kirkby Stephen Station only, with an increased frequency. Buses to/from Kirkby Stephen Station are timed to connect with trains on the Leeds- Settle - Carlisle line.
• Minibus service S1 will be increased to include:

                - buses between Kendal and Sedbergh on Mondays and Fridays, run by Westmorland & Furness Council
                - buses between Kendal, Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen on Tuesdays and Thursdays, run by Western Dales Bus
                - buses between Kendal, Sedbergh and Dent on Wednesdays, run by Western Dales Bus 
                - buses between Kendal, Sedbergh, Dent and Dent Station on Saturdays, run by Western Dales Bus

• Minibus service S6 will be replaced by expanded services S1 and 563.
• Minibus service S5 between Sedbergh, Kirkby Stephen, Ravenstonedale and Kendal continues unchanged on Fridays
