Minor changes will be made to the route and timetable of Little White Bus Wensleydale Voyager service 156 between Leyburn and Hawes from 26th July 2021. Most journeys will now serve Sycamore Hall in Bainbridge.
The new timetable can be downloaded here (PDF file). Bus 784 between.Ilkley and Skipton will be renumbered as service 64 from 25th July, with a slightly revised timetable to improve reliability. On Monday to Friday one journey will continue to run from/to Otley.
The service will be now usually be run by green Keighley Bus Company buses. Sunday buses between Ilkley and Skipton on Cravenlink services 873 and 884 will continue unchanged. An on-demand bus service that allows users to choose when and where they want to travel is being piloted in the Ripon, Bedale and Masham area.
YorBus is a demand responsive transport (DRT) service that allows passengers to book a ride on-demand, anywhere within the operating area. YorBus is run by North Yorkshire County Council and allows users to book via a dedicated app, which is now available to download, or by phone. Click here for further information. An increased service will be introduced on Stagecoach bus route 280 between Preston, Clitheroe, Gisburn, Barnoldswick, Earby and Skipton from Sunday 28th June as part of a package of improvements funded by Lancashire County Council.
On Mondays to Saturdays buses will run hourly on the full route between Preston, Clitheroe and Skipton, with four return journeys on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Download the new timetable here (PDF file) Minor timetable changes were made to service 147 (Thirsk - Ripon) and service 155 (Bedale - Leyburn) from 13th January 2020.
Service 147 now operates via Holme on Swale junction. A revised timetable will be introduced on Cumbria Classic Coaches Wednesday service 572 between Ravenstonedale, Kirkby Stephen, Brough and Barnard Castle from 8th January 2020.
The outward journey will call at Kirkby Stephen Station at 0938, connecting with the 0748 train from Leeds. From 1st July 2019 the following bus services run by North Yorkshire County Council will be amended to operate via Raikes Road in Skipton:
Service 72 to Grassington (daily), operated by Keighley Bus Company, will continue to run via Grassington Road. Services 75 (Saturdays) and 873/884 (Sundays) to Malham will continue to run via Gargrave Road. The 280 bus service between Preston, Clitheroe and Skipton was under threat as the current operator, Rotala Preston Bus advised it could no longer provide the service commercially after 16 June 2019.
However, Lancashire County Council and Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire have been working together to ensure the service continues. This followed a tendering exercise with other bus operators to establish the best value solution. Stagecoach will take over operation of service 280 from Monday 17th June 2019, meaning there will be no gap in service. There will be some minor timetable amendments, but the service will continue to operate Monday to Saturday daytime every hour between Preston and Clitheroe extending through to Skipton every two hours as with the current service. The route will be changed between Barnoldswick and Skipton to additionally serve Earby, and the times of buses through to Skipton will now be similar on Saturdays to the times on Mondays to Fridays. Lancashire County Council will initially provide more than £80,000 per year to subsidise the route, with Ribble Valley Borough Council and Pendle Borough Council being asked to provide a contribution to help facilitate the first year's operation.
