Grassington is a popular small town in Wharfedale, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The National Park Centre on Hebden Road is next to the main bus stop, and is a great starting point for anyone wanting to make the most of this beautiful area. From there a short walk takes you into the village centre, or you can walk down to the River Wharfe, see Linton Falls and enjoy a walk alongside the river.
Grassington features as the fictional town of Darrowby in Channel 5's remake of the classic TV series All Creatures Great and Small.
Grassington also lies on the Dales Way walking route between Ilkley and Bowness, and there are many opportunities for walking in the area.
Grassington is served by daily bus service 72 from Skipton, with minibus 72B continuing further up Wharfedale to Kilnsey, Kettlewell and Buckden on Monday to Saturday. There are buses most days to Burnsall, Bolton Abbey and Ilkley - click here for details.
On Sundays and Bank Holidays, additional DalesBus services operate including DalesBus 874 between Wetherby, Leeds, Ilkley, Grassington, Kettlewell and Buckden; plus during the summer months (services have now finished for summer 2024 season) DalesBus 875/876 between York, Leeds, Ilkley, Grassington, Kettlewell, Buckden, Aysgarth and Hawes; and DalesBus 822 from Pocklington, York, Ripon and Pateley Bridge to Grassington.
Timetable leaflets are available from the National Park Centre on Hebden Road, and Grassington Hub.
