This website contains links to timetables for most local buses and trains, but there are also several other sources of information available to help you plan your journey.
Metro's DalesBus timetable booklet can be downloaded here, and printed copies of timetables for some services are available from bus station travel centres, tourist information centres, libraries and other outlets. Updates are available here and for the latest news follow @DalesBus on Twitter.
There are also on-line journey planners, which include full timetable details of all bus and rail services:
Traveline provide a one-call phone number for all public transport timetable information. The number is 0871 200 22 33, and lines are open daily between 8am and 8pm. If you are calling from outside the area, press 885 as soon as the greeting message starts, this will divert you to a Traveline call centre in North Yorkshire.
Calls cost 12p per minute plus your phone company’s access charge.
A good way to find out train times is to use the National Rail journey planner, which includes details of all train operators services.
bustimes.org provides real-time bus location information on a map for many, but not all, buses in the Yorkshire Dales area, as well as timetable information for all services.
Timetables for individual bus routes in North Yorkshire (with a useful search facility by town or village name) are available online at NYCC's transport website.
The Friends of DalesBus are the public transport users' group for the area and provide details of public transport changes in the Yorkshire Dales to their members. If you have found this website useful, please consider joining the Friends or making a donation. Click here for further details.
For details of an individual service you can also contact the operator for the latest information.
