DalesBus Ramblers
DalesBus Ramblers organise free guided walks on most Sundays and on occasional Saturdays in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale National Landscape using the wonderful DalesBus services. The walks vary from easy strolls of around 4 miles to faster-paced strenuous walks of over 10 miles.
All you need is a pair of boots, waterproof clothing, water and a packed lunch. You will be led by an experienced guide, and welcomed by a friendly group of walkers of all ages and abilities, on a well-planned walk that often ends at a local hostelry.
You don’t have to be a member of Friends of DalesBus to join the walks, but we would warmly welcome you as a member if you'd like to support our work and become a regular walker with us – visit About Friends of DalesBus
Details of which bus to catch and start/finish points are given for each walk. You can also contact the walk leader using the phone number or email address given if you would like more information or advice, but there's usually no need to book in advance. For full details of all bus times, connecting services and tickets see the DalesBus timetable or visit: www.dalesbus.org.
Please note that all walks, times and distances are approximate and are subject to revision as circumstances dictate. Whilst every care will be taken, and all walks are risk-assessed, all participants on a DalesBus Ramble are responsible for their own safety. Leaders retain the right to refuse to allow walkers with inadequate clothing or footwear to join walks, and regrettably, dogs other than registered assistance animals are not allowed on our walks.
Walk classification:
EASY Suitable for all, a short and generally level stroll
MODERATE A longer walk with occasional uphill sections
STRENUOUS An extended walk with more uphill climbs and over rougher ground
Please accept the pace set by the walk leader. Participants going in front of the walk leader or behind the back marker may be deemed to have left the walk.
